ASI2600MC Pro product description
ASI2600MC Pro uses Sony's latest back-illuminated IMX571 sensor, APS-C format, and native 16-bit ADC. It has an ultra-high 14 stops dynamic range, ultra-low 1.0e readout noise, and an innovative breakthrough in zero-glow. It can be described as ZWO's new generation APS-C flagship camera. A star camera born from the call of astrophotography lovers
Craftsmanship, lightweight body, uncompromising picture quality:
We have been working hard to reduce the weight of the camera while improving the performance of the camera. After years of technical accumulation and repeated weight loss experiments by engineers, ZWO finally concentrated the ASI2600 to 0.7KG.
APS-C format:
ASI2600MC Pro uses APS-C format, the sensor length and width is 23.5mm * 15.7mm, and the diagonal is 28.3mm. The total camera pixel is 26 million, and the small pixel size of 3.76um can accommodate a large depth of 50ke.
Native 16bit ADC:
ASI2600MC Pro is our first batch of CMOS astronomy camera with 16bit ADC. This 16bit ADC is not a CCD 16bit ADC, which can really achieve a dynamic range output of 14 stops. Significantly enhances the fineness and contrast of the image, and the color changes are smoother and more natural.
Back-illuminated
The traditional CMOS sensor has a metal cable layer on the photodiode. When light passes through the cable layer, it will be blocked or reflected, resulting in the photodiode only absorbing 70% or less of the light;
The back-illuminated sensor has the metal wiring layer and the diode reversed in position, and the light reaches the photodiode without blocking. The absorption rate is higher and the imaging quality is higher.
Camera curve: low readout noise, high dynamic range
The ASI2600MC Pro has excellent performance with a dynamic range of up to 14stops. When the gain value is 100, the magic HCG high gain mode is turned on, the readout noise is greatly reduced, and the dynamic range is basically unchanged. It is recommended to set a gain of 0 or a gain of 100 in deep space.
Non-glow process:
Traditional CMOS sensors generate weak infrared light when they are powered on. When the camera is in the exposure process, it is equivalent to a light source, which affects the overall imaging quality. , You do n’t need to worry about photo quality
Two-stage TEC cooling, ultra-low dark current:
Like the ASI6200, the ASI2600MC Pro also uses secondary TEC cooling. The maximum cooling temperature difference at room temperature is about 35 degrees Celsius (based on a 30-degree ambient temperature test). The powerful cooling can effectively suppress the generation of dark current, and even with long exposures of hundreds of seconds, the noise is very small.
In addition, ASI2600MC Pro also uses unique dark current suppression technology to further reduce dark current noise.
When the cooling temperature is 0 °, the dark current noise is only 0.003e / s / pix, which means that there is only 0.9e dark current noise during 5 minutes of exposure (300s), which is less than the readout noise; cooling temperature -20 At °, the dark current is only 0.00021e / s / pix, which is completely negligible.
USB3.0 & 256M DDR3 memory:
The ASI2600MC Pro is equipped with a USB 3.0 transmission interface and a built-in 256MB DDR3 cache to ensure stable and secure data transmission. It effectively avoids frame dropping under long exposure and greatly reduces the glow effect caused by slow reading speed.
